How does Iloilo City celebrates and welcomes the year 2014? simple.
1. Fireworks Display
2. Love

December 31, 2013. I wet rainy day. Many even I thought their would be no countdown and fireworks display later at midnight. But then I was amazed to know their would be even it's raining hard outside with cold winds. I was so happy. Earlier in the morning I charged up all my batteries for the Big Countdown Night, preparing my Camera for some photos capture.

11:30PM I was ready and the rain is still pouring out, but nothing stops me I still go and capture this delightful Fireworks Display of Iloilo City.

I went with my Family and cousins and carefully wait for the countdown, preparing ourselves to witness this firework display.

The Firework was prepared in a barge in Iloilo River along Mulle Road. As we arrived in the location, I immediately prepare my camera, I have no tripod with me so I went look for a place where I can position my camera in a great angle.

The countdown begins and the fireworks really worked amazing. It was a successful celebrating, and welcoming the year 2014 in Iloilo City.

BATCHOY WITH MISWA NOODLE SOUP.

BATCHOY  Miswa Noodle Soup

Batchoy is a noodle soup made from pork organs, crushed pork cracklings, chicken, or pork meat, and rounded noodles, or Miswa noodles. Batchoy is a prefect food when you are tired from your work, with Batchoy you will feel a lot more energized with its saltiness but lovely and make you crave for more.

Batchoy is best eaten with Pan De Sal with some Soft Drinks, and Juice with some friends, family and relatives, having time together with Batchoy makes your time so memorable.

My experience in eating Batchoy was great, specially with this new Batchoy with Miswa noodles, added with a little black pepper, and soy sauce, soft drinks, puto, and bread is a perfect combination for a good Mirenda.

You can eat Batchoy using spoon and fork, and chopsticks will also do. I used spoon and fork when eating outside, but when I'm home with my Batchoy I used chopsticks sit in the couch and watch some movies and news. I also sometimes eat Batchoy while I'm making my post here in my Blog. It helped me make my brain work well.

Come and Enjoy your Batchcoy here in Iloilo City.

Estancia's Best: Munting Kusina Sauteed Bagoong

Estancia's Best: Munting Kusina Sauteed Bagoong

Do you know what is Bagoong or Ginamos? Have you tried to eat it already or haven't yet? Could you imagine the flavor of this product by seeing just the picture? No, I recommend you must try this product.

I went to Robinsons Mall Iloilo because there is no work to do at home. I found out that the city tourism held an event that will showcase the products of the provinces of Panay. I roam around along the fountain area looking at the booth of the different provinces here in Panay Island and bought this Ginamos or Bagoong.

Ginamos or Bagoong is famous condiment in the Philippines. It is a kind of sauce mixed with fish or shrimp and with a little salty-chilly flavor. The photo shown above is a Sauteed Bagoong by Munting Kusina Foods and Preserves. It s Estancia's Best product of Iloilo, Philippines.

Ingredients:
  • Shrimp
  • Paste
  • Edible Oil
  • Vinegar
  • Garlic
  • Chili Pepper
  • and Sugar

Tasting this product is like eating a siomai in a chini sauce but of course with different interesting flavors. You'll find the smell a little not good if you're new to the product but when the time you try and explore the flavor, you will surely wanna eat some more and buy.

There are many ways to eat bagoong. One best way is to eat it with an Indian Mango-a green mango with a mix of sweet and sour flavor, cook it, or eat it directly with rice making it your main dish, to some other people in the Philippines even made it as a jam or spread for their sandwich.

Come and taste this Philippine Condiment from Estancia Iloilo "Munting Kusina Sauteed Bagoong

Here are some more photos of Munting Kusina Sauteed Bagoong.

While i was looking for it, this Mango Biscocho caught attention in my and made me buy it.

I was so excited to eat it and know the taste of the food. At the moment I take my first bite, I really tasted the sweetness of mango on it and it's like having a toasted mango bread. I enjoyed it and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Mango Biscocho's Ingredients are:
Enriched flour, yeast, lard, milk, butter and refined sugar.

Come and enjoy the taste of mango in different ways. Experience our food with such  amazing taste.

Trappist preserves and delicacies are made and packed by the monks of Our Lady of the Philippine Abbey, as part of long tradition of excellence and hospitality. For over 1500 years, monks following the Rule of St. Benedict have prayed and worked in common, and lived by the labor of their hands. Hospitality has always been a special work of monks, who for centuries have preserved food products with conscientious care in order to have a tasty treat to present to their guests. In the spirit of this tradition, the Trappist monks also offer a selection of Jams, Jellies, Marmalades, dried fruits, fruit juices, and a variety of bakery products.
